Description

Join us for the Doc Talks Lecture Series, an educational program hosted at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in collaboration with the YMCA. This series features local medical experts delivering key health information and community wellness updates in a welcoming setting.

This hybrid session features two experts from the Geriatric Psychiatry team at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital: Program Director King-Yu Mike Tzu, PMHNP, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Bitna Gloria Choi. Together, they will share practical tools to help you identify when natural feelings of sadness or nervousness may be signs of a more serious mental health concern. You will learn about the differences between inpatient and outpatient care, as well as the various supportive resources available for recovery in our local community.

What we will cover

  • Featuring the program director of geriatric psychiatry and an experienced clinical social worker.
  • Learn to recognize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
  • Understand how both inpatient and outpatient services can benefit recovery.
  • Discusses local supportive resources specifically for older adults and their families.
  • Join the live session in Glendale or participate from home.
  • Box lunches are provided for in-person guests who register at least 48 hours early.

Please be advised that no Doc Talks lectures will be scheduled for August and December.
