Get Trusted, Innovative Care for Granuloma

Granuloma is a lesion (growth) usually found on the vocal folds that may result from vocal use, laryngopharyngeal reflux and throat clearing. A granuloma can also develop on the vocal cords due to an infection or after surgery that requires an intubation (breathing) tube for anesthesia.

You’ll have access to dozens of physicians specially trained in conditions that affect the larynx or voice box. We develop customized treatment plans based on individual needs and teach strategies to help reduce the chance of recurrence.

Granuloma Symptoms We Treat

Some people with granulomas won’t experience any symptoms. Others may experience symptoms related to the infection that causes granulomas. These can include:

  • Cough
  • Eye redness or pain
  • Fever
  • Hard, painful lumps on the skin
  • Headaches
  • Night sweats
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Trouble with vision

Granuloma Treatments We Offer

Granulomas themselves typically do not require treatment. However, your doctor may need to treat the underlying cause of the granuloma. These treatments may include corticosteroid medicines to decrease inflammation (swelling). Your doctor may prescribe antibiotic, antiparasitic or antifungal medications to treat an underlying infection.
