Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine

Our lung specialists treat a wide range of sleep and pulmonary disorders, including conditions that require critical care.

Pulmonary Critical Care for a Better Quality of Life

Easy breathing and sound rest are important. But pulmonary and sleep disorders — like lung disease and sleep apnea — can disrupt your quality of life. They can also lead to serious health issues, like reduced lung function and heart complications.

Our pulmonologists, critical care specialists and sleep experts are here to help you take control of your health. Together, we use cutting-edge treatments and techniques to craft your personalized care plan. We’ll provide the support you need to breathe easier, sleep better and live life to the fullest.

Types of Pulmonary Disorders We Treat

Our lung specialists use a pulmonary function test to measure how well your lungs work. This test helps us make an accurate diagnosis and create your individualized treatment plan. We care for patients with a full spectrum of pulmonary disorders, including:

  • Advanced lung disease: Lung disease is any disorder that affects the lungs. We offer treatment for advanced cases of lung disease, like severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • Chronic pulmonary hypertension: This type of high blood pressure affects the blood vessels between the lungs and heart. It’s a serious condition that can lead to recurring embolisms (blood clots) in the lungs. It can also cause the right heart chamber to fail.
  • Cystic fibrosis: This genetic disorder causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and other organs. The mucus buildup can block airways and lead to lung damage or infection.
  • Interstitial lung disease: This disease causes inflammation or scarring in the lungs and makes breathing difficult. There are more than 200 conditions of interstitial lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis.
  • Lung cancer: This cancer occurs when lung cells multiply and form tumors. We offer care for all types and stages of lung cancer.
  • Lung transplant: If you have severe lung problems that don’t improve with treatment, a lung transplant might help. Our surgeons remove your diseased lung and replace it with a healthy lung from a donor organ.
  • Sleep disorders: These disorders disrupt your ability to sleep normally. Sometimes, they’re caused by blocked airways, like obstructive sleep apnea.
