Sandee Castaneda, AuD, is an audiologist with Keck Medicine of USC who specializes in diagnosing hearing and balance disorders in both adults and children. She provides personalized treatment options, including hearing aids, cochlear implants and bone-anchored devices.
As a bilingual provider fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Castaneda is passionate about expanding access to high-quality audiologic care. She is dedicated to providing patients and their families with healthcare that is collaborative and a space where they can communicate comfortably and confidently.
Dr. Castaneda became a doctor of audiology due to her passion for both music composition and psychology. Through audiology, she is able to integrate her love of both sound and neuroscience.
Dr. Castaneda received her doctor of audiology degree from California State University, Los Angeles. Her research interests include electrophysiological diagnostic testing, which measures auditory steady-state response in patients who cannot provide subjective behavioral data. This cutting-edge testing yields data that allows for more accurate treatment of patients with reduced hearing function who struggle to describe their experience.
At the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Dr. Castaneda serves as a clinical assistant professor of otolaryngology.
