Linda S. Sher, MD, FACS, is a highly respected expert in abdominal organ transplantation. She specializes in kidney, liver and pancreas transplant surgery, including living donor transplants.
Dr. Sher is also an active researcher, focusing her efforts on decreasing the side effects of medications that are used to suppress the immune system after transplant surgery as well as identifying better ways to detect organ rejection after transplant.
As chief of the division of clinical research for the Department of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Dr. Sher oversees the implementation of clinical trials for the entire department. She is also a dedicated teacher, training new generations of transplant surgeons.
Dr. Sher grew up in New York. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and movies.
