About Jonathan Nattiv, MD
Jonathan Nattiv, MD, is a cardiologist at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

Dr. Nattiv is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. He holds specialty certifications in cardiovascular computed tomography (CT) and echocardiography.

His research interests include the use of non-invasive biomarkers in post-transplant monitoring of the transplanted heart and the safety and efficacy of mechanical circulatory support devices in the treatment of critically ill patients in the cardiac intensive care unit.

He has contributed to a growing number of research journal articles, abstracts and presentations, often on heart transplantation outcomes and survival. During his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, Dr. Nattiv served as chief fellow and took part in curriculum development.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking in Griffith Park with his wife, son and dog. He also likes playing soccer and exploring the delicious and diverse food scene in Los Angeles.
“Patient education and advocacy are paramount. I am a firm believer that patients need to understand their illness in order to become active participants in their treatment.

“This is particularly important in heart failure, which becomes much more manageable when patients are attuned to the signs and symptoms. When empowered with this knowledge, they can feel confident in our shared medical decision-making process.”
