About Hye Ri Han, MD

Hye Ri Han, MD, MS, is a radiation oncologist with Keck Medicine of USC who specializes in breast, head and neck and genitourinary cancers, as well as benign and inflammatory disorders. She has expertise in advanced radiation therapy techniques such as stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), along with the use of low-dose radiotherapy for non-malignant conditions.

For Dr. Han, the most important aspect of the doctor-patient relationship is trust. She strives to ensure each patient feels heard, supported and confident that she will guide their care decisions from a place of honesty and compassion.

After earning a Master of Science in biotechnology at New York University, Dr. Han earned her medical degree from the University at Buffalo in New York, then completed an internship in internal medicine at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens. She then moved to California to complete her training with a radiation oncology residency at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center (now Los Angeles General).

Dr. Han serves as a clinical assistant professor of radiation oncology for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Her research interests focus on improving cancer treatment through advanced radiation techniques, such as spatially fractionated and stereotactic radiotherapy. She is also dedicated to studying the factors that impact patient outcomes. She is particularly interested in addressing health disparities in safety-net settings and how multidisciplinary, patient-centered care can enhance both outcomes and quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Han enjoys cooking and eating Korean food, exploring cafés and bakeries and searching for the perfect americano to pair with matcha or blueberry desserts.

My philosophy of care is to treat each patient as I would want my own family treated — with compassion, clarity and respect.
