Florence-Damilola Odufalu, MD, is a gastroenterologist with Keck Medicine of USC who specializes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis, microscopic colitis and checkpoint inhibitor colitis. She has specialty training in intestinal ultrasound for IBD and IBD in pregnancy.
Dr. Odufalu believes the foundation of excellent care is mutual trust and respect. She understands that patients often seek care during vulnerable moments and takes that responsibility seriously. By listening and providing compassionate support, she ensures that patients feel comfortable, informed and nurtured throughout their care.
After earning her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Odufalu went on to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for her internal medicine internship and residency. She then proceeded to a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Saint Louis University Hospital. An additional fellowship in advanced inflammatory bowel disease at the University of California, San Francisco, completed her medical training.
Dr. Odufalu serves as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Her research focuses on understanding and addressing disparities in IBD care, improving outcomes for pregnant patients with IBD, fertility considerations in IBD and evaluating emerging therapies. She is also interested in improving quality of care for IBD patients, particularly within immigrant and minority populations.
Outside of work, Dr. Odufalu enjoys an active life with her young daughter. Favorite activities include going on walks, visiting Disneyland and playing with the family dog.
