Join USC Arcadia Hospital for our in-person breastfeeding class to help you get ready for your baby’s arrival. We’ll explore the “Understanding Breastfeeding” Student Handbook, which will be mailed to you after registration. A lactation specialist will teach the benefits of breastfeeding and show you how to hold your baby for a comfortable and successful feeding.
You will use a doll or a rolled-up blanket as your “baby” to practice these positions while the instructor guides you. We will also talk about how to keep up milk supply, use a breast pump, store milk safely, and prevent common problems, followed by a Q&A session. Your support person is encouraged to join us. Plus, you will get access to a mobile app so you can keep all this helpful information right at your fingertips.
