Advanced Treatment for Salivary Gland Disorders

At the USC Salivary Gland Center, our experts specialize in the advanced treatment of salivary gland disorders and diseases. Our specialists — including otolaryngologists, head and neck radiologists, rheumatologists and oncologists — collaborate closely to provide the highest level of patient-centric, multidisciplinary care.

Our experts treat complex salivary gland disorders using minimally invasive procedures. Our surgical and clinical knowledge, combined with the latest technology, enable us to perform advanced procedures. For instance, when treating a patient with salivary gland stones, our minimally invasive technique spares the salivary glands instead of requiring the salivary glands to be removed. We specialize in procedures that avoid scarring and risks such as facial nerve paralysis. Our goal is to improve patients’ quality of life, addressing lifelong challenges that are difficult to treat, such as dry mouth.

The procedures we offer, including sialendoscopy, salivary ductal steroid installation, botulinum toxin injections for sialadenitis and sialorrhea, dilation of duct strictures and minor salivary gland lip biopsies, can be conveniently administered in an office setting. In addition, by collaborating with other research institutions, the USC Salivary Gland Center stays at the forefront of new treatments.

At the USC Salivary Gland Center, we continue to explore and implement the latest in medical technology and minimally invasive therapies.
