Chau Tran , DO
Chau Tran, DO, is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and the USC Spine Center, part of Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in nonoperative treatment and electrodiagnostic medicine for spinal disorders.
As a clinician at Keck Medicine and a specialist in interventional spine medicine, Dr. Tran focuses on relieving pain, restoring and maximizing function in the back and neck to optimize patients’ overall quality of life. Dr. Tran performs a variety of procedures to relieve pain and improve function, including epidural injections, facet joint injections and radiofrequency ablation. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with each of her patients to deliver the most advanced, evidence-based, highly individualized clinical care.
Dr. Tran earned her medical degree from Burrell College of Health Sciences in New Mexico. She then completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, followed by a fellowship in spine medicine at Keck Medical Center of USC.
At the Keck School, Dr. Tran serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery. Her research interests include minimally invasive procedures — specifically, basivertebral nerve ablation. This advanced technique uses thermal energy to block pain signals from damaged, inflamed spinal bones. It delivers precise, long-term relief for chronic low back pain when conservative management options have been exhausted.
When she is not working, Dr. Tran stays active with her family through martial arts, fitness training and outdoor recreation.
