Rachel Hogen, MD, is a liver and kidney surgeon with Keck Medicine of USC who specializes in end-stage liver and kidney disease as well as benign and malignant conditions of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
Dr. Hogen places a strong emphasis on building trust and mutual understanding with her patients, taking the time to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment options. She also strives to understand the expectations, wants and needs of each patient and their family so she can present treatment options that best align with their goals.
Dr. Hogen earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. She then completed both her internship and residency at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center (now Los Angeles General) and ultimately finished her abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary surgery fellowship at Keck Medical Center of USC.
Dr. Hogen serves as an assistant professor of surgery for the Keck School. Her research interests focus on improving clinical outcomes in liver cancer, increasing access to transplantation for patients and advancing the medical management of liver transplant recipients.
A Southern California native, Dr. Hogen enjoys cooking, running, traveling, painting and reading.
