About Botros R.M.B. Rizk, MD

Botros Rizk, MD, is an obstetrics and gynecology expert specialized in reproductive endocrinology and infertility with Keck Medicine of USC. His clinical focus includes female and male infertility, the medical treatment of infertility, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and fertility preservation methods such as oocyte (egg) freezing. He is also a leading authority on endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and uterine fibroids.

As a physician, Dr. Rizk prioritizes openness, compassion and shared decision-making between the doctor and patient. He understands that providing patients with a complete picture of their condition enables them to make the medical decisions that will best serve their goals and well-being. Dr. Rizk also prioritizes a high level of clinical excellence so that his patients can place their full trust in him.

After completing his medical degree and internship at Cairo University in Egypt, Dr. Rizk completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency in London. This was followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Bourn Hall Clinic and The Hallam Medical Center in London and Cambridge. Upon moving to the United States, he completed his training with an additional obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of South Alabama, where he was named a tenured professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Rizk currently serves as a professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology and chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for the Keck School of Medicine of USC. His research interests in infertility and assisted reproduction include refining ovarian stimulation protocols, and he is considered a leading authority on ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Other research interests include increasing implantation rates, addressing recurrent pregnancy loss and improving treatment outcomes for endometriosis and uterine fibroids.

Dr. Rizk is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Outside of work, Dr. Rizk enjoys traveling with his family.

My goal is to engage the patient completely in her health care choices and give her all the information that assists her to make the best decision for her, as well as to utilize the most advanced science and medical skill in every situation.
