About Shelly X. Bian , MD
Dr. Bian is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology at USC Norris Cancer Hospital and USC + Los Angeles County Medical Center. She joined USC in July 2017.
Dr. Bian received her MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with high honors. She subsequently completed her residency training at the University of Southern California and served as Chief Resident during her last year.
Dr. Bian’s research interests include stereotactic radiosurgery in the treatment of brain metastases, particularly in melanoma, evaluation of tumor response after stereotactic body radiation therapy with advanced radiological methods such as dynamic perfusion CT, and quality improvement in radiation workflow processes. She has presented and authored publications in multiple areas of radiation oncology and is enthusiastic about using her clinical research to better understand the mechanism of cancers that affect her patients.
