Dr. Law is the director of neuroradiology in the Department of Radiology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
Here’s what you won’t find on his resume:
Creativity inspires his brain research.
“I have certainly enjoyed clinical medicine and caring for patients, but my creative side has shaped my interest in neuroscience research.”
Music is his passion.
“When I was growing up, I wanted to be a concert pianist. To this day, when I am not working, I am performing magic, practicing the piano and the clarinet. I also like traveling the world, one of my favorite cities is Rio de Janeiro. I also practice meditation and mindfulness and enjoy reading books like Zen Golf by Dr. Joe Parent to improve my mental approach and mindfulness in golf and also in life. It has taught me to be compassionate to my patients, colleagues and friends around me. What others may be surprised to learn is that I aspire to be a master chef, a concert musician, and perhaps a rock star in medicine one day.”

He finds his career very rewarding.
“The reason I decided to work at an academic medical center is because I wanted to care for patients, teach students and be involved with cutting edge research. I feel I have a very friendly and approachable bedside manner. I have truly enjoyed caring for patients and seeing the joy and happiness in their faces when I have helped someone. There is nothing more fulfilling.”
He’s working on groundbreaking research in Alzheimer’s disease.
“I am the director of the neuroimaging core for the National Institute on Aging USC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, which has made exciting breakthroughs in the early diagnosis and novel therapies for Alzheimer’s disease. We are currently conducting some exciting clinical trials in Alzheimers Disease. We are also fortunate to have amazing state of the art MRI technology and phenomenal research faculty at the USC Stevens Institute of Neuroimaging and Informatics where I am the medical director.”
His colleagues and patients are his favorite part of working here.
“I have really enjoyed the collegiality of working with world-class physicians. The doctors at Keck Medicine of USC are some of the best doctors in the world at USC. Many are rock stars in their field, but they remain humble. We have some of the most talented and yet caring physicians in neurosurgery, neurology and neuroradiology in the world. I am fortunate to be working with such great colleagues that help care for great patients.”
