About this doctor:

After finishing her training in the United States and obtaining the American Board of Clinical and Anatomical Pathology, Dr. Fauceglia returned to Europe where she practiced surgical pathology, with concentration on uropathology and gynecologic pathology, for four years at Geneva University Hospital, Geneva, Switzerland, an academic teaching institute. During her stay, she developed a special interest in urothelial bladder cancer and endometrial cancer. She was also involved in setting up the research laboratory where she implemented and set up the tissue microarray technology (TMA).

Upon her return to the United States, Dr. Fauceglia took a position at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) where she concentrated mostly on gynecologic pathology. She helped the gynecologic-oncology service to elevate their patient care and was a referral pathologist to most of the gynecologic cases in the community. During her stay at RPCI, Dr. Fauceglia was appointed as Director of Gynecologic Oncology Pathology and Professor of Pathology while successfully publishing numerous manuscripts, most of which are in translational research. She also heavily supported the gynecology-oncology research program and the vaccine trial program headed by Dr. Kunle Odunsi at RPCI.

Dr. Fauceglia joined USC in 2010. As Chief of Gynecological and Obstetrical Pathology at LAC+USC Medical Center, she holds a joint professorship appointment with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has had numerous collaborative research projects in preventive medicine studying the gene profiling of ovarian cancer with Dr. Simon Gaythner and his team. She also is collaborating with the obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology teams in numerous research projects and has many collaborative research projects with research groups outside of USC.

Dr. Fauceglia provides consultation service for gynecologic cases nationally. In addition, she has published more than 100 publications in peer review journals and is a mentor to numerous reisdents and fellows.
