About this doctor:
Dr. Mary Yamashita developed an interest in breast imaging early in her residency training. She spent the majority of her elective rotations at some of the finest breast centers in Southern California. In 1998, Dr. Yamashita was recruited directly out of residency to become the lead mammographer at the Marcia Ray Breast Center in Glendale, California. In 1999, she became the center’s Medical Director. She was also the vice chairman of the Radiology Department and a member of the oncology leadership team at Glendale Memorial Hospital, Glendale, California.
In May of 2004, Dr. Yamashita was recruited to Patricia L. Scheifly Breast Health Center at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. As a medical director, she provided direction for the breast center and staff, emphasizing the importance of quality, efficiency and compassion in the service to patients.
Dr. Yamashita joined USC Radiology Associates, Inc., in July of 2006. She is currently an assistant professor at the Keck School of Medicine and is dedicated to teaching the medical students, radiology residents and fellows. She is an investigator in three clinical trials related to breast cancer and director of the mammography division of the LAC+USC Comprehensive Health Centers.
